Sentinel 4 sensor array
|
SENTINEL 4 Sentinel 4 is a stationary four sensor, tripod mounted passive sensor
system. The system individually monitors -
It provides optical and audio indication to an operator when any
of the sensors are activated. Input sensitivity is adjustable on each input, and output trigger levels have adjustable levels. It is fitted with event counters on each channel making long period monitoring easier to check for activation. The system has two main parts - the tripod mounted sensors and the main control box linked via a 15-meter cable. Results are shown on centred LED displays, It is powered by a rechargeable battery and can be left running for several hours. Unlike other systems, the Sentinel 4 does not measure absolute values
(except temperature), rather it shows changes of energy around each
sensor. The electric field sensor has given the most promising results so
far, I believe it is the most sensitive part of the system. The following pictures show the camcorder mounted LED indicators

These pictures show a row of clear leds mounted at the top edge of viewable range of the camcorder where two LEDs per channel light up when a sensor is triggered and show a (+) or (-) response. When the camcorder is connected to a VHS recorder the system can be left to monitor a location for up to 8 hours. During playback the tape may be viewed in fast forward mode and only the leds need to be watched to check for results. When the time/date function is activated on the camcorder a time dated record is recorded on tape. |
